 Problem:
The head to foot rail on the bottom of my box spring has come loose at the head of box spring's wood frame.

Resolution:
You may need to replace your entire bed frame support system or you may be able to maintain adequate support by adding an accessory.

Reason:

Inadequate support in your bed frame system may be the entire cause or a significant contributing factor of your complaint. The mattress manufacturer’s warranty material says that it is the consumer’s responsibility to make sure that their mattress set is adequately supported.

In various ways mattress manufacturers try to describe in words and graphics in their warranty material what is required to adequately support their sleep sets. It is our opinion that these descriptions are frequently vague and incomplete. Experience has shown us that the most simple and practical description of truly adequate support for all sizes of mattress sets is this:
Every support system must include rigid total perimeter support (That means rigid support along both sides – across the head and across the foot), plus rigid center support (support that literally runs through the center beneath the sleep set).
Furthermore, the center support should run at least “side to side” for all applications. Head to foot support is adequate for split full and queen size box springs and for the two twin extra-long box springs in a king set (adding “side to side” support in those cases vastly improves the support). Also for box springs with two head to foot rails along the bottom surface, a side to side center rail is a must. A head to foot center rail is not functional.
